Where is SEAL Team Medic today? Update

In a dramatic court case that seemed straight out of a movie, Eddie Gallagher was acquitted of most of the charges against him after another Navy Seal suddenly admitted to killing the Iraqi POW. Corey Scott claimed that although he was responsible for the murder of the prisoner, he did so to save the prisoner from torture at the hands of the Iraqis. Apple TV + ‘s “The Line” portrays the astonishing trial and shows how a shocking confession helped free Eddie Gallagher. Let’s take a detailed look at the case and find out where Corey Scott is currently, shall we?

Who is Corey Scott?

Corey Scott was a 1st Class Special Operator and medic for the SEAL team who deployed alongside Eddie Gallagher to Iraq in 2017. He was part of Eddie’s platoon and was a firsthand witness to the incidents. that took place on the battlefield. As a doctor, he was the one who looked after the Iraqi POW, whom Eddie was later accused of murdering. The charges against Eddie were numerous, the most important being the alleged murder of an Iraqi prisoner of war.

The decorated Navy Seal was also accused of being reckless with his sniper rifle, and some of his platoon mates claimed he shot unarmed civilians. Eddie, however, immediately responded to the accusations and categorically denied them, saying they were made by disgruntled soldiers who disliked his command. Also based on the allegations, Eddie was arrested in 2018 and faced charges of attempted murder, premeditated murder and obstruction of justice.

Where’s Corey Scott now?

Corey Scott was supposed to be the key prosecution witness and testify against Eddie at his trial in 2019. Once he spoke, he was offered an immunity deal; he made a shocking confession that turned the trial upside down. Corey said it was he who took the life of the prisoner. The doctor explained that the POW’s health was already failing and his additional injuries only increased the pain. So, as a form of compassionate murder and not wanting the man to be tortured further by Iraqi forces, Corey suffocated him to death.

With Corey’s revelation, Eddie was acquitted of most of the charges and was only convicted of posing with the corpse. However, with Corey having secured an immunity deal prior to his confession, the doctor was never charged with his crime. But as a result of that, there are reports that he could face court martial over a possible perjury charge.

However, with no reports of the court martial at this time, it appears the charges have yet to be laid. With everything going on in his life, it’s only natural that Corey wants to live under the radar right now. That, coupled with the lack of current reports on the Navy Seal, makes its current whereabouts quite unclear.
