USA softball beats Canada 10-2 in final pool game
In front of a packed stadium at the Hoover Met, the USA softball team beat Canada 10-2 Monday night in the final pool game. After two shutout wins over Italy and Chinese Taipei, the United States put on another dominating performance as they took a 5-0 lead to finish the third set. Canada responded in the top of the fourth with two runs, but was quickly stopped after a two-run homer from Hannah Flippen put the United States in the lead 7-2. Team USA would hit in one more runs and another two-run homer from Taylor Pleasants to seal the victory. Team USA will face Australia in the semifinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Hoover Met.
