Oz defeated SL in the 2nd T20I, Seal Series 2-0

COLOMBO, June 8: The Sri Lankan batters went no shot for the second consecutive T20 game against Australia and went 124/9 in Colombo after the visitors won the coin toss and opted to play on Wednesday .
The defending T20 champions chased the target with three wickets to spare to seal the three-game T20 series.
Australian maverick Glenn Maxwell opened the bowling with his counter-turn on Wednesday and took 2/18 in his three overs to lead a close bowling performance.
Maxwell was very well supported by pacemakers Jhye Richardson, who finished with 3/26 in his four overs, and Kane Richardson, who took four wickets and gave up just 30 runs in his spell.
Finch’s side kept the pressure on the hosts throughout their innings with sounding lines, precise lineouts and timely wickets.
During the chase, the visitors came to a flyer before Finch fell to third with the scoreboard showing 33.
Australia continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, with leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga claiming 4/33 to put Australia’s continuing run in jeopardy at 99/7 in the 12th.
Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade (26 not out) then kept his cool and made sure his side chased the target without another hitch.
In the first T20I, Australia beat the side managed by Dasun Shanaka for a 10 wicket win in the opener of the T20 on Tuesday.
Australia will face Sri Lanka in the T20I final on Saturday June 11 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. (Agencies)
