News continues to leak regarding “SEAL Team” Season 6, currently filming, which is set to premiere later this year or in early 2023 on Paramount+. The end of last season was a cliffhanger after the team was attacked while on a mission in Mali, with uncertainty over whether everyone survived the ambush.

The deadline has reported that a new SEAL character will join the series. Omar is a senior chef with 15 years of experience as a SEAL. He is the son of Syrian immigrants, which apparently gives him a deep understanding of Middle Eastern cultures and gives him an edge on missions in that region.

Omar is played by Raffi Barsoumian, best known for his role as Warrant Officer Rami Ahmadi in the CBS military legal drama “The Code,” which aired for one season in 2019. He has also had roles in the CW series “ The Vampire Diaries” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” He appeared on stage opposite Tom Hanks in “Henry IV” at the Shakespeare Center in Los Angeles.

SEAL Clay Spenser’s fate is up in the air after taking shrapnel in the eye during the cliffhanger episode at the end of season five. Spenser told Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) he wanted to quit the team after the Mali mission, and now actor Max Thieriot is starring in a new CBS series called “Fire Country.” “SEAL Team” producers insist Thieriot is returning for Season 6, but they haven’t said anything about whether it will be a brief goodbye or if Spenser will continue as a series regular.

Now, there’s also a fan theory floating around that SEAL Trent Sawyer is also done with the team and won’t be returning. Sawyer is that rare military character who is played by a true veteran, in this case former Army Ranger Tyler Grey.

Related: Why ex-Army ranger Tyler Gray is working with a ‘SEAL team’

According to a article in the British tabloid The Express, Gray left the show. Their origin? A conversation between former Green Beret and Black Rifle Coffee CEO Evan Hafer and Army Special Forces veteran Mike Glover about the Podcast Hot deleted.

Glover tells Hafer that Gray “don’t do the Navy SEAL thing anymore” and eventually reveals that “The Terminal List” author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr told Glover that Gray “now does something else”.

Thing is, Trent Sawyer didn’t appear in the back half of ‘SEAL Team’ season five, but a close look at Grey’s Instagram account reveals that the ‘SEAL Team’ showrunner gave him a pass to film a role in ‘Kandahar,’ an upcoming military thriller from the team of actor Gerard Butler and director Ric Roman Waugh, who have already worked together on “Greenland” and “Angel Has Fallen.”

Is “Kandahar” “something else” Gray was doing? If so, will he return to “SEAL Team” in Season 6, or has Gray left the show? It’s yet another cliffhanger to resolve when the series finally returns to Paramount+.

Hit action drama SEAL Team added a new series regular for its upcoming sixth season. According Deadlineactor Raffi Barsoumian (The code) joins the series and will play Omar, “a senior chief with fifteen years of experience as a SEAL.” A description of the character adds, “The son of Syrian immigrants, Omar has a deep understanding of the Middle East and calls on that knowledge to help navigate missions in the region.”

SEAL Team “follows Bravo Team, a sub-unit of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group, the most elite unit of the Navy SEALs, as they plan and undertake dangerous missions around the world with little notice, and the burden placed upon them and their families.” The series stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Paré. The first five seasons of SEAL Team aired on CBS, but the show has since moved to Paramount+.

In 2021, after it was announced the SEAL Team would be moving to Paramount+, Boreanaz spoke with CBS News about the change and shared his thoughts. “You know, it’s interesting because the show, to begin with, is so intense, what we do on the network and how we push the boundaries and the level of authenticity to begin with,” he said. “Now, by moving to Paramount+, you really get the positive side of it. You can see a little bit more, you can invest in deeper things with the characters.”

the old buffy The star continued, “That’s how it is today, streaming is the world and we’re happy and proud to be a part of this platform. Every episode of SEAL Team is a thrill ride, I say for You get the speed and efficiency of missions and operations and you see the ins and outs of how these guys operate with weapons and tactical maneuvers and breach doors.

Boreanaz then added, “It’s all great, but you also get the other half which is the mental component. You have all these compelling characters and how they deal with what’s going on inside AND outside the wire I’ve always felt that’s really the pulse of the show. For my character, Jason Hayes, you see this leader taking SEAL Team into battle, but he also has to understand them off the wire. That really resonates in me and so we’ll see that ramp up more on Paramount+.” Those interested in trying a free trial of Paramount+ can do so by click here.

What impact does this have on the team? What does it do to Bravo? There are a lot of questions that will come out of this season finale,” said Boreanaz, who also serves as an executive producer. Max Thieriot is best known for his five-season role as Clay Spenser on the CBS and, now, Paramount+ action drama. SEAL Team is officially returning for a sixth season later this year, but fans are now worried about Max’s future with the show after signing on for upcoming first responder drama Fire Country.

Fire Country has officially been ordered for a full series after CBS was impressed with the star SEAL Team pilot.

Thankfully, sources have been assured that his upcoming TV gig won’t affect Max’s current starring role on the Paramount series.

After the Bravo Team ambush at the end of SEAL Team‘s fifth season, fans feared that Clay would succumb to injuries and have to bid farewell.

However, TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich confirmed, “I’m reassured that Thieriot is, in fact, capable of doing both shows, and as such remains a series regular on SEAL Team.”

Fire Country was ordered to air a full series in May last year after Max starred in the first pilot episode.

He will be joined by Twilight Saga star Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro from Lucifer and TV regular Diane Farr from Numb3rs and Splitting Up Together.

It was initially speculated that Max would step down from his SEAL team duties to focus on the new drama, which is loosely based on his experience growing up in Northern California.

The official synopsis reads: “A young convict joins a firefighting program in search of redemption and a shortened prison sentence.”

“So grateful for all the people in my life! The incredible team behind this show and the incredible actors who put their hearts into it.

“You all pushed me, supported me, listened to my crazy ideas and loved me through it all. Can’t wait for you to see ‘Fire Country’! Let’s go!!!!”

A number of his SEAL Team castmates also took to the comments to celebrate their co-star’s new role.

David Boreanaz said: “Excellent work! From a SEAL To Fighting Fires! RETURN!”

Just in case you’re still worried about Max Thieriot’s status on SEAL Team season 6, here’s another callback you don’t have to be.

According to a new report from TVLineThieriot is still 100% a series regular on the upcoming season, even though he has an upcoming CBS drama in land of fire which has been mass-ordered and is on the fall schedule.

So how is he able to make this work? It’s probably due to the driver for land of fire film before SEAL Team started production; Meanwhile, Season 6 of the Paramount+ series is filming right now. We imagine that land of fire will start again later this summer and by then Max will have finished or will appear here and there.

While you can expect to see more of Clay in Season 6 (and hopefully beyond that big, explosive cliffhanger), his status for a potential Season 7 is up in the air. Much will depend on how land of fire performs and then also what are the shooting dates. It’s a lot for anyone to balance the two shows in the long run, especially since both are physically grueling. We’re just glad to have Max around for at least one more round of military drama, especially since he’s as solid in acting as he’s ever been. The move to Paramount+ allowed them to tell bigger and more intense stories, and also even more realistic to what happens to real SEALs fighting to keep everyone safe.

There’s no SEAL Team the premiere date for season 6 has not yet arrived, but we expect it to be back this fall. For more information while you wait, be sure to visit the link here.

What do you expect from Max Thieriot’s move into SEAL Team season 6?

In the meantime, what do you think will happen with Clay after this big cliffhanger? Share now in the attached comments! Once you’ve done that, don’t forget to check back for more updates as well, which we don’t want you to miss. (Photo: Paramount+.)

As we begin to prepare for SEAL Team season 6 on Paramount+, it’s clear there are a lot of directions the story could take.

Above all, priority #1 is to solve the big cliffhanger at the end of season 5. There is no other way out! We need to better understand who lives and who dies after the cliffhanger, and what the long-term ramifications are. We’re going to go on and say again that the person we’re most worried about at the start of the season is Clay, and that’s because Max Thieriot has another project coming to CBS.

Once we get to the other side of that cliffhanger, how should things go for the rest? Could we have a number of isolated missions, or just one that runs throughout the year?

We have come to understand that over the years the SEAL Team The creative team does a really good job of keeping people on their toes and ultimately we don’t think that’s going to change. We don’t think the writers will actually commit to either idea. We’ll likely see a few different missions throughout the season, and they’ll be mixed in with what’s happening for Bravo at home. The reason it’s so important for the show to do this is because we can’t forget that Jason and these characters live in two different worlds. It’s not just about who they are when operating in the field; it’s about how it all affects them at home.

Fingers crossed, we will have the chance to see all kinds of stories from this world later this year!

Eric Blackburn (played by Judd Lormand) took the SEAL Team fandom by storm in season five when he made an unexpected return to the life of Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz). After his promotion to Commander and Executive Officer of DEVGRU in Round 4, many thought Lormand would be written out of the show given his Bravo exit, but thankfully that wasn’t the case. And now, thanks to a snap on his Instagram, Lormand has confirmed that Blackburn will be returning for the show’s sixth run on Paramount+ following his CBS stint.

Considering his 61.3k Instagram followers, Lormand sparked a meltdown among SEAL Team fans by breaking a key piece of Blackburn’s uniform.

Not revealing too much in terms of plot, Lormand snapped a shot of Blackburn’s boots and socks, ready for his next mission in season six.

The SEAL Team fan favorite simply captioned the post, “Let’s go! Season 6. @sealteam_pplus.

And it didn’t take long for fans to weigh in their enthusiastic reactions — including some of Lormand’s co-stars from the show.

Main star Boreanaz showed his support by liking the post while True Blood and NCIS star Ashley Jones wrote, “Woohooo!” (sic)

Members of the fandom also weighed in, with @lkirik6 commenting, “Damn yes, Blackburn! We are happy to see you!!”

“Yes Blackburn is back!! Let’s go!!” @melbear26 replied while @zouzou.tz echoed: “Hopefully we see more of Blackburn than we did last season. The show isn’t the same without him!

And @semajdebose remarked, “Can’t wait for the Davis and Blackburn scenes together in Season 6.”

But fans will have to tune in when season six wraps up filming and airs to find out for sure.

And while fans eagerly await another season of the hit military series, the SEAL Team universe is also expanding to the big screen.

Earlier this year, CBS bosses announced that a SEAL Team movie was in the works – alongside an all-new NCIS spin-off, NCIS Sydney.

George Cheeks, President and CEO of CBS and Chief Content Officer for News and Sports at Paramount+, said at the time, “These two projects represent two new ways to expand our studio’s footprint while supporting the company’s mission to drive streaming.

“We have the producer roster, production infrastructure and deep library to be creative and nimble with franchisees and other IPs for domestic and international audiences.”

The SEAL Team movie won’t act as a bridge between seasons five and six, however, on its own as its own project.

Blackburn’s involvement in the feature film project currently remains unknown as to whether or not he will appear.

SEAL Team Season 6 will premiere on Paramount+ in the US later this year. Season 5 continues Wednesdays on Sky Max and NOW in the UK.
