Australia eager to seal series with Test win over England

“Good news, the baggy green has arrived,” Healy said on Sunday after Starc joined her in Adelaide.

“It’s tucked away nicely in my bag which is being shipped to Canberra so it’s a huge win. I’m really looking forward to the test match, we’ve never had the opportunity to play two in one summer before so having this opportunity is going to be really exciting.

Healy, who opened the batting alongside Meg Lanning in the T20 win over England last week, spoke of the potential tension of opening and holding the wicket.

“It wasn’t really in the discussion that I wouldn’t be [opening] so I’m going to assume that I’m still doing this job,” she said.

“The approach we took in this last test match we played was ‘we’ll see how we do’.

“If things don’t quite go to plan and we’re on the pitch for a long time and I’m feeling tired, then we make that call on the fly.”

On Sunday, Healy criticized Nine’s decision not to broadcast the 2022 Women’s World Cup on free-to-air television. Nine Entertainment is the owner of this masthead.

Following the backlash, Kayo decided to remove the paywall and stream matches on Kayo Freebies.

“You fucking beauty! she wrote on Twitter in response.
